Professor of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery
| Prof. Abubakar Umar MBBS, FWACS, FACS A consultant cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon and a professor of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. Graduated from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto where he was awarded bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery (MBBS) in 1999. He then went for postgraduate studies both in Nigeria and abroad. He is a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), he did fellowship in cardiac surgery at Madras Medical Mission, Chennai India and also a fellow of the American college of surgeons (FACS). He set up cardiothoracic surgery center of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital Sokoto and pioneered open-heart surgery at the same institution |
